The Battle for the Cup (as Siko recalls):

Tank vs. The Nuge was set up as an intense battle, however going out very hard hurt both Tank and the Nuge. They decided to go chicken-for-chicken out of the blocks. Tank ate the first 12 pieces of chicken in 24 minutes and The Nuge tried to hang and got 11 pieces down. After roughly 5 beers each, both Tank and The Nuge realized the mistake (chicken was extra greasy this year) and got stuck feeling crappy. This included a dry heave at the 2 hour mark for the Nuge. This gave the opportunity for Truck to finish 1212 before Tank and The Nuge. The Nuge finally got that 12th piece of Chicken down at 3:31 minutes, which is almost an hour later than last year. At this point Truck, The Nuge, and Tank all started to feel crappy. This feeling caused Truck to pull out of the cup race, stating that, “after 13 pieces of chicken I can't eat anymore”. With all 3 of these guys feeling sick a "feeling good and looking good" Shannahan was moving up the ranks. At this point Truck was not eating anymore, Tank was hurting, and Shannahan going smooth, the Nuge gets a second wind and starts eating again. The chicken, which was claimed to be “different” then past years, was the major factor in the results. While eating his 15th piece, Tank “shocked the 1212 community” by choking and vomiting with about 45 minutes to go. Left in the running was The Nuge and Shannahan. Nuge, having 19 beers down to Shannahan's 16, was clear on beers, but they were tied with 15 pieces of chicken each. They both started on their 4th breast with the Nuge finishing it first and having time to eat an additional drumstick. Congrats to Shannahan for putting the pressure on in the final minutes.

Congrats to the Nuge for defending his 1212 Cup Title.
